Chairman's Newsletter June/July

30 Jun 2019

Dear Member,

We are well into the season now with the 1st XI up at the top end of the league & still in the 2 cup

competitions. Well done Matt and the boys, keep it going- as the old football saying goes- nothing is

won in June!

The second and third team- just keep jugging away to get that winning formula on a regular basis. Availabiity

for the ladies team has been hit and miss a bit- but we are evolving a core with the challenges ahead.

The boys/girls seasons started off sluggish with the weather having a big say amongst some unique

issues. Though it must be said - there have been a number of welcome new faces which is great to see-

with a young man aged 5 George introducing himself to me full of confidence today -for instance. I look forward

to monitoring his progress.

We have momentum now with the All Stars programme after disruption from the weather and hope

many of the children hook up with the club.

Off the field, our treasurer, Martin Tearle is looking to stand down at this year's AGM- though will still help

with the bar accounts. So if any one is interested in helping the club with this important role- please approach

me for a summary of what the position entails. Many thanks to Martin for keeping the figures in the black

for the past 5-6 years if my memory serves me right.

I am also indebited to Matthew Dunstone for coming forward to take on the role of Club Secretary.

Appreciating the involvement of all.

ATTENTION ALL ladies and girls- you are welcome to our Softball event this Friday- see the attachment- no previous

experience required.  There is an incentive as you can see on the poster.
